Linguist

   Nighttime. Henry's room, late-ish.

ALBERT:  Alright Bud. I'll see you tomorrow.
HENRY: (Clings to Albert's arm and whimpers) Noooo!
ALBERT:  I'm sorry you're sad, Bud. I really am. But you do this every night. I can't stay forever. (A new thought...) It's kind of like The Boy Who Cried Wolf.
HENRY:  What??
ALBERT:  The story.
HENRY:  I didn't cry wolf.
ALBERT:  No, I know. I just mean when you say the same thing a lot, it starts to wear off.
HENRY:  I didn't cry wolf. I cried... parent.

Tent

The sweetest gift from the Webers that we finally got around to putting up - an Eric Carle themed tent. KG and I have been climbing in with him at night to read to him from his latest chapter book, "Little Lord Fauntleroy".

Our Little Skeptic

Henry: You know what the kids at school said?
Katharine: What?
Henry: They said if you step on a big crack, you'll die.... WATCH THIS! (he steps on a big crack)

KG and the Boy

So I finally got a smart phone and started taking pictures, which of course means the dad to mom photo ratio should even out a bit.

"State Of Overwhelm"

This weekend, my buddy Eric Drachman and I participated in KCRW's 24-Hour Radio Race. At 10 am on Saturday, they emailed us a topic: "The Last Thing You'd Expect". We came up with an idea, convinced KG to come over with Henry, recorded everybody in Eric's coat closet and cobbled the damn thing together. We finished at 9:41 the next morning and submitted it. Check it out. And if you enjoy, click the "like" button on Soundcloud. KCRW is giving out prizes!

Love Love Love

Stoney Point

Henry calls it "The Magic Place" - Stoney Point in Chatsworth. I used to rock climb there all the time when I was in my 20s and 30s. I've been having a great time going back and sharing it with Team Dayan.
